Eugenie Jones

Eugenie Jones is known as a performer who makes audiences feel jazz. Vocally described as possessing “A voice that covers words like pieces of silk covering precious stones,” (Charles Mudede/The Stranger) Jones is an emotive, engaging song stylist who entertains and draws audiences into each performance. Winner of Earshot Jazz's NW Vocalist of the Year and NW Recording of the Year, Jones’ style is reminiscent of the sophistication of iconic vocalists/composers of the past.

She performs classic mainstream jazz and also pulls listeners inside contemporary themes by sharing her own original vocal jazz tunes that have earned her international recognition as a cleverly gifted lyricist. Though a gifted lyricist, Jones devotes a large portion of live performances performing jazz standards known and loved by jazz aficionados.

Born and raised in West Virginia to parents who loved jazz, soul and R&B and to a mother who sang in their church choir, Jones was exposed to a variety of music foundations prior to making her professional debut as a jazz singer in Seattle, WA. With a professional background in business and an MBA to her credit, Jones broadened her career path to pursue jazz.

Now as a national recording artist, Jones’ albums have made it onto Jazz Week Review Top-50 charts, been favorably reviewed by Down Beat magazine as well as numerous industry critics, and have been the foundation for sold out performances from Washington, DC to Seattle, WA as Jones broadens her musical reach across the country.
